The 23rd Millennium Science Forum was held on 12 November 2021 at the British Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. The 23rd Sir Martin Wood Prize (2021) was presented to Dr Atsushi Togo (National Institute for Materials Science) by the British Ambassador to Japan, Ms. Julia Longbottom. The award was presented to Dr Togo for his work on the development of open source software for phonon properties in materials science.
In addition, we welcomed guest speakers Professor Makoto Fujita (The University of Tokyo) and online, Professor Suchitra Sebastian (University of Cambridge). The event was held with a smaller group than in previous year, while maintaining a social distance.
